Murphy is truly the
star at Keewest - he is our first homebred dog to win Best in Shows,
Best in Specialty (on both sides of the border)and many group wins
and placements. He was awarded a Judges Award of Merit at the
American National in 1998 and won his first American Specialty in
July of that year.
His first Canadian
Best In Show was awarded to him by Mrs. Joyce Moulton in May of
1997. Throughout his career, Murphy was awarded a total of seven
all-breed Bests, in addition to Mrs. Moulton, he recieved the
ultimate honor from Mr. Nigel Aubrey-Jones, Mrs. Andrena Brunotte,
Mrs. Peggy Guiterrez-Oterro, Mr. Lawrence ('Skip') Stanbridge, and
Mrs. Helen Miller-Fisher.
Murphy's American
Best in Specialty was awarded to him by Mr. Leslie Rogers, and his
Canadian Best in Specialty came from Mrs. Marion Postgate.
Throughout his
career, Murphy was the recipient of 206 Best of Breeds, 54 group
1st's, and 98 Group placements. Additionally - Murphy was awarded a
Judges Award of Merit at the 1998 Keeshond Club of America National
Specialty. This prestigous award was given to him by that years
breeder judge - Col. Harold Brizee.
Murphy is a one in a
million dog - who truly loves dog shows, his home life and his many
friends. He know no strangers, just friends he hasn't been formally
introduced to. He has an uncanny ability to relax at shows, falling
asleep on a table inbetween ring appearances, yet ready to go at a
moments notice. He and Beth have developed a tremendous bond over
the years, and were we willing to allow it, he would have continued
to go to shows with her, even after his retirement. A perfect
gentleman, the epitome of true Keeshond temperment! |
